Dear Friends,

The ZKC Email International Club Tournament is on again.   This year because of the Pacific Games the ZKC tournament  will be held the last weekend of May 29th, 30th, 31st.

Attached please find the regulations on the tournament.  I hope that  clubs  from your Federation will take the opportunity to participate.

This year,  similar to last year,  we have decided to give to the winning clubs male and female, 2 sets of ZKC weights each.   This tournament has become very popular now and we want to reward the winning clubs with an additional set of weights.

Again I look forward to see your clubs participating in this event.

Kindest regards,

FEBRUARY 2015

OWNZ Appoints a Part-Time Administrator

Dear OWNZ Members, Officials, Coaches, Clubs and Supporters,

I would like to introduce myself formally as I take on this position.

My involvement with Olympic Weightlifting started in 2013 when I began competing in Club Competitions in the Wellington Region. I am still competing but have now relocated to the Auckland Region.

In 2014 my volunteer involvement within the sport increased when I managed and coordinate the 2014 North Island Championships in Wellington. From then on I knew that I wanted to become more involved to help grow, develop and promote the sport.

One of my key responsibilities in this new role is to be the contact between Members, Coaches, Officials, Clubs and the OWNZ Executive Committee. My contact information is below and I ask that ALL enquiries come through here rather than contacting the board members individually.

We expect the growth of our sport to rise dramatically over the next few years as the quality and support from OWNZ directly to Members, Coaches, Officials and Clubs increases.

To send us in the right direction we have created an online survey for anyone associated with OWNZ to fill out. It is called the 2015 OWNZ Feedback and Future Planning Survey and It wont take you long to complete. The link is below in the newsletter.

I am looking forward to working with every level of the sport from grass-roots through to our Clubs around NZ, through to our High Performance athletes.

Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions, comments or concerns.

Kind Regards,

Emma Pilkington
